Maureen Checks Out Macau

In our latest entry Maureen Todd, an agent from STA Travel, writes about her trip to Macau which she won through a recent incentive run with the Macau Specialist Training Programme...

Macau is an amazing mix of the Orient with a Mediterranean feel; it really has something for everyone. By day we explored all the sights including A Ma temple, the ruins of St Paul's and the many little side streets of the beautiful historic centre.

I loved the Grand Prix Museum and would love to go back to experience the thrill of a Grand Prix weekend although I decided against the bungy jump at the Macau Tower!

We spent some time visiting Taipa and Coloane where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city by relaxing on a sandy beach, having a walk in Seac Pai Van park with paths through gardens and waterfalls; they also have a panda pavilion there. In Coloane village you can still see the traditional houses built on the water and the wooden junks.

At night the buildings are all lit up and the shows and nightlife are amazing, especially the House of the Dancing Water at the City of Dreams which was breathtaking.

To sum up, Macau has far more to offer than you could fit into a day trip from Hong Kong so make sure you recommend a stay for a few days so your clients really experience Macau's WOW!!
